Dear Friends and Colleagues

Thank you, all of you that attended and contributed to the 2nd Joint International Neurogastroenterology and Motility Meeting held in Luzern, Switzerland on 6-8th November 2008.

The European, American and International Neurogastroenterology and Motility Societies and the Functional Brain-Gut Research Group can look back on an highly successful collaboration. Final statistics show that 820 individuals from 34 countries attended this event, making it the largest meeting of its kind ever held. There was an even split between clinical scientists and basic researchers and fully 78% were actively involved with at least one of the 453 abstract submissions.

To ensure that NGM08 makes a lasting contribution, all those that contributed lectures, orals or posters are encouraged to send their work to dr.mark.fox@gmail.com. The collected work will then be placed on-line and made available to registered users of the congress website and members of the societies.

The success of the Meeting depended on your attendance, enthusiasm and contribution. Now we look forward to the 3rd Joint International Meeting hosted by the FBG in Chicago on 26-30th August 2009. We shall see you there. With best wishes from Switzerland!
